Applicant Hell (Alpha Demo)
Applying to jobs is a miserable drag!
You are a newly-unemployed programmer, and have been assigned an Emotional Support Kompanion to monitor you as you apply for new work.
Enjoy the harrowing experience of the job search from the safety and comfort of parody.
Incrementally work your way through vast reams of bullshit, as you slowly build your method of escape. Try to keep sane as your government-mandated therapy bot does nothing to help you, or consign yourself to hysteria with the realization that the system is working as intended.
...and More!
Read 120 unique sentences dripping with barely-concealed rage, experience ~150 lines of dialogue from questionably helpful companions, obtain roughly 30 upgrades with unique twists on gameplay, and maybe, one day, become... employed?
Playtime: About 30 minutes.
Note: There is no music!

Notes from the Dev
A lot has happened while making this demo. Mostly, I have watched my personal life circumstances slowly - and then rapidly - deteriorate. I'm releasing this "alpha demo" as a way of gauging interest and ultimately deciding whether I put more time into the project -- so if you like it, please let me know!
Credits: Me! Except sound effects. See credits-file.md for sfx sources.

I can't quite figure out the the module puzzles work?
Don't worry too much, the rewards for solving are just temporary boosts for now. I'll make a note to tweak the presentation if I get around to the module revamp.
great game, job searching is still scary however
